I'm heading to Cali in a couple months and I was just curious if I flew into Long Beach Airport what the best way to get to San Diego is. Any locals or people familiar with the area have any suggestions besides renting a car and driving there? Buses? Trains?
Any help would be well appreciated. Websites, maps, anything.
Thanks!

It is quite easy to just drive. 5N to the 405N, the long beach airport is right off the 405, so is LAX if you need to go more north. As for the train, you can visit amtrak.com and see the locations, it starts in SD and stops at Oceanside, sometimes San Clemente, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Fullerton, Los Angeles train station and several more on its way up to Santa Barbara. So it actually doesn't stop in Long Beach (I may have missed a few stops on my list). So I would suggest checking out the MetroLink. I have never taken it but I know it makes unusual stops so it may stop there.

You can get an Amtrak train from Anaheim station which is about 30 minutes drive from Long Beach Airport. I think Greyhound might also have services from Long Beach to San Diego. The Greyhound station in Long Beach is about 15 minutes drive from the airport.

Take Long Beach Transit bus 111 from the airport to the corner of Ximeno and Anaheim then connect to bus 46 which will take u to Long Beach Blvd from there take a right and walk up one block to the Greyhound station, that is the cheapest way between to the 2 cities

You can take an OCTA bus to the Amtrak station in Santa Ana. Then take the train to San Diego.

trains are surprisingly cheap if you look at the site, and I'm sure cheaper if you order them early. If you are looking for more of an adventure, try hitchhiking. I was recently in that area and that's what I did.
