Cheap would be nice and something for a couple to do. We're not big drinkers and we're just looking for something to do together. We're willing to go to LA as well.

Hello, I'm not sure what your interests are, but there's always tons to do that doesn't require drinking. Here are a few ideas along with some Web sites you might want to check out.

Theater (I hear 'Q Street' at Speckles is hilarious)

Movies (Great way to stay cool on hot August days)

Hiking (Torrey Pines, Julian, etc)

Day Trips (tour the Hotel Del, ferry over to Catalina, visit Newport or Huntington Beach, drive to Julian, wine tasting in Temecula)

Outdoor Activities (kayak at La Jolla Shores, surf at Tourmaline, pack a picnic, etc)

If none of these things are doing it for you, check out the Events/Entertainment pages of the enclosed Web sites.

Hope you find something that piques your interest!

San Diego:

1)Seaport Village-Walk through the quaint shops, ride the merry go round, have a nice meal in one of the restaurants, walk along the water and watch the ships go in and out of hte harbor.

2)Take the 2 hour harbor cruise-thats really fun and you learn alot about San Diego. You will probably see alot of jelly fish in the water and you can get close to the big ships.

3)Drive over to Coronado and walk around the Coronado Hotel and sit on the beach..Maybe have a nice picnic lunch out on the beach together.

4)Visit the San Diego Mission and learn all about the history of the California Missions.

5)Take the San Diego Trolley Tour-They take you on a 2 hour narrated tour of the San Diego area and you can get off at any of the stops and visit there and then get back on the trolley and continue.

6)OId Town San Diego-You can visit the shops in Old Town and take in the history behind Old Town.

7)Balboa Park-Visit all the museums in that area, the IMAX Theatre.

I hope that answers your question. Have fun!!!!!!!!!

Go to Balboa park, you can probably listen to an organ concert in the organ pavillion, there are several gardens you can walk through, and the Timpkin museum (free) has some pretty historical pictures.

If you hit it right, there might be something interesting going on at the international cottages, people from different countries take turns putting on events each Sunday there.

To be really inexpensive, just bring a hat, walking shoes, and something to drink. There also are snack and drink vendors there on busy weekends.

Go to Balboa park its beautiful there and that could be romantic. There's also the beach La Jolla Coves, also Mission Beach you could walk the boardwalk and go into little shops to cool off, ride a rollercoaster at Belmont Park. Hope that helps.
