Where is the safest but affordable place to live in San Diego county?

My husband had to go to Cali for work he is living in Escondido I would like to move out there with our daughter but don't know were a safe affordable city is. I have been to his place in Escondido and it's ok but we just bought a house in a small suburb south of Phoenix so we could have a safe place to raise our daughter and I don't know if I want to go back to living in an apartment were I don't feel safe.

my 1st pick would be Clairemont



my friends just left Phoenix because of all the drugs

not sure why you think that place is "safe"



University City and Poway have great schools.

and the rent for apartments isn't that bad (by San Diego standards)

The Escondido and San Marcos areas are safe and have decent schools. There are lots of families living in the area.
