I'm going to San Diego in a few weeks for Spring Break, and i wanted to go to a really pretty, big, warm beach with clear water (or close to clear waters) and white sand! Lol. I'll be in San Diego for a week and have 5 out of the 7 days open! So just let me know if you have any ideas of what beaches I should visit! Thanks!

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE San Diego area beach is Coronado Beach on the west side of Coronado Island. The island is just across the water from downtown San Diego. You can catch a ferry from the waterfront or drive across the impressive 2 mile long San Diego-Coronado bridge. The Hotel Coronado is there and the most amazing sunsets can be seen across Pt. Loma. Just breathtaking!!

We used to drive 7 hours from Tucson, AZ to hit this beach! (and hang out in the San Diego area for awhile) Water is great for body surfing and the beach is gorgeous! And while most beaches can be busy, with parking at a premium, there are plenty of places to park on the surrounding side streets - just don't block anybody's driveway and you'll be fine! Better yet, if you are staying on the island you can walk or take the local transportation.

Have a great time - wish I was going!!

that's been a on an identical time as because of the fact that i've got been to the show in Coronado so i won't be able to remark on how crowded that's gotten those days, yet i understand that there is stuff to do there. they have an annual parade and another festivities that starts some time in the morning. There are additionally places to save and consume interior of reach. l. a. Jolla is positive, yet attempting to discover parking would be quite stressful except you get there in the morning. The seashores are prettier there and additionally you may even look on the seals that took over one section (spoke of as the youngster's Pool). There are greater shops to save at and places to consume, and that's all around greater scenic. you will like this section once you're finding for environment, yet will hate it for a manner crowded that's (see image). The fireworks are able spoke of as the l. a. Jolla Coves, and it may get claustrophobic because of the fact that's in a extremely small section. The cool factor is that in case you rigidity a mile or 2 all the way down to l. a. Jolla seashores, you could watch the fireworks from there, and that has much less foot-site visitors. besides the incontrovertible fact that, there is enormously lots no longer something to do there different than huddle among acquaintances and blankets till the fireworks initiate. i might recommend going to the l. a. Jolla seashores on the third and then having a greater relaxing 4th of July in Coronado. have relaxing.

There are lots of beaches in San Diego. Some are best for surfing....some are best for families with young children....others for beach volleyball. Some are more secluded than others. There's even a nude beach.

Visit this site for info on all of the beaches, directions and pictures too.

My favorites are the beaches of La Jolla (pictures in link below). Pretty sandy beaches, with a lovely path along the coastline. Coronado is also a super beach, worth checking out.

Happy vacationing!
