I am between Southwestern College and City College, I heard Southwestern has good conections with all UC system, excepting UC Berkeley and UCLA, but what can you tell me about City College?
Thank you.

I went to Mesa College, night classes, it sucked. We never had enough chairs for everyone in one class. Parking sucked. One of my professors nearly died (80 something years old) and only talked about what he heard on PBS and NPR for 2 hours instead of American History. They replaced him with the librarian the last 5 weeks, who was a Canadian (who had a general knowledge of American history, like you and me, but nothing more) and asked us to "hurry up" during our final so he could watch the hockey playoffs!!!

I don't know what day classes are like, but night classes were horrible and it was cold too, but it is right next to possibly the best Vietnamese bakery & sandwich stand in all of SoCal so that worked for me.

Each one is good. My son went to Mesa JC for two years then transferred to UCSD which he graduated from. City college is in the same San Diego Community College system as Mesa and Miramar.

The real key to making this work for you is to hook up with a good counselor at the junior college. This person will make sure you satisfy all the classes necessary for entrance into the UC system. If they don't, then you may have to take additional classes to meet the UC requirements and that means spending more time and money.

I wouldn't say theres a specific community college that is better, I guess it really depends on the college that you are trying to transfer to. If you go to the community college in your area, the chances of transferring to UCSD or USD would be higher compared to UCLA.
