I traveled to SanDieg in 2006, July 7th to 12th and expected to have great weather that was not to hot or cold! The 5 days I spent there were mid 90's every day. I am returning this July 5th - 12th and would like to know what I should expect? I plan on going to the Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Sea World on a 5 day 3 for 1 pass. Also can you recomend other places of intrest? I like to take Photo's and the last trip I spent there I took over 3000 photo's.

2006 was a freak year. You caught a bad break. I live in North San Diego and I woke up at 7 several mornings to 90+ temps and highs that flirted with 110+ a couple of times. Normally summers can be hot, especially Wild Animal Park expect 95 typically. But the city, Zoo and Sea World, are usually around the 80's. Take in a baeball game downtown and the USS Midway downtown, hit the beach, and Balboa Park in addition to the Zoo is extraordinary for photos. Have fun!

The weather is normally great and almost always a comfortable temperature BUT summer 2006 was a very hot summer for San Diego and all over California. There were record heatwaves all over the state that summer I remember and July was the hottest month. Inland is also much warmer than the immediate coast of SD; The Wild Animal Park will be much warmer than the Zoo or SeaWorld, probably upper 80's to low 90's at the WAP. Normally July temps are in the mid to upper 70's that time of year. You can see the average daily highs for SD coastal locations in July at this site: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/daily/92101?climoMonth=7

The Wild Animal Park will be hot. It's always hot out there in July. At the Zoo and Sea World it is usually nice that time of year, an 90's isn't nice to me!!

Here's a link that will give you the past years temps in July

It's too early to tell. It will be hot though. No question. At least you probally won't experience the humid days or the santa ana days.
